Edited by Lee Mylne and Lee Atkinson
Is Temora really the friendliest town in Australia? Can a rank amateur fine fame in the streets of Tamworth? Where is the true ''dead centre" of our continent? how hard is it to win an outback rodeo? These are just some of the questions posed - and answered - in this collection of stories by members of the Australian Society of Travel Writers.
In this anthology, some of Australia's best travel writers share some of their favourite places and most memorable experiences on home turf. Lee's contribution to the book is Life and Death in the Kimberley, an account of a cruise from Broome to Darwin in which she and her fellow passengers confronted their own mortality and learned to make the most of every day, lessons learned as they travelled through one of the world's most achingly beautiful landscapes.
Red Dust & Wanderlust is available through the Australian Society of Travel Writers, www.astw.org.au.
