Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Australian Society of Travel Writers, this anthology is a collection of stories covering 1976 to 2005 from some of Australia's best-known and most awarded travel writers. Without exception, the 40 stories in this book – chosen from more than 150 submissions – reflect the writers' passion for discovering more about the world we live in. Over the past three decades, these writers have collectively travelled to all corners of the world, chronicling its changing face, and have been changed themselves by their experiences. Lee's own contribution to the book, Across Syria in the Dark, details an incident from a three-month-long road trip from Saudi Arabia to London which Lee and her husband John undertook in 1986. Among the other writers featured are Susan Kurosawa, John Borthwick, Glenn A. Baker, Tim Elliott, Mark Dapin, Diane Armstrong, Bill Peach, Mike O'Connor and Ann Rickard.
